Mauri. My name is Marita Davies.

I am a proud Australian / I-Kiribati woman, descended from the atolls of Marakei and Tabiteuea North.

I am passionate about carrying the stories and cultural knowledge of Pasifika. I love stories that ask us to think beyond our own world; stories that help us understand each other better and stories that guide us towards equality, community and justice.

I write the stories that call to be told and I answer to the call of the story.

As a Writer and Creative Practitioner, I write stories that weave in themes of kindness, family, joy, resilience, pride, strong women, culture and community.

Over the years I have had the privilege to be involved in the deep listening of qualitative research, and ensuring the voice of lived experience and communities is present within organisations, strategy, vision and creative outcomes.

I am a cultural consultant. I nurture emerging designers. I am a facilitator. I share stories one on one and sometimes in front of people.

I am a writer at heart - but the form varies daily.
