Mauri.

My name is Marita Davies.

I am an Australian / I-Kiribati woman, descended from the atolls of Marakei and Tabiteuea North. I stand at the intersection of Pasifika storytelling, creative practise and strategy.

As a writer and creative practitioner, I share stories that weave themes of kindness, family, joy, resilience, pride, strong women, culture and community.

As a strategic writer, I facilitate qualitative research and community listening to build the voice of lived experience and communities into strategic organisational outcomes and vision.

I am passionate about carrying the stories and cultural knowledge of Pasifika.

I long for stories that ask us to think beyond our own world; stories that help us understand each other better and stories that guide us towards equality, community and justice.

I write the stories that call to be told and I answer to the call of the story.
