Teaote and the Wall is a children’s book that tells the story of a girl trying to protect her home from rising sea levels. It is a story of resilience, hard work, determination, community and Pacific Island culture.
It was written by me and illustrated by the wonderful Stacey Bennett.
Teaote and the Wall is based off the story of my mother - Teaote - who has spent years building a wall around our house on Tarawa in Kiribati.
It is written for the ages 3-7 but is a great tool to introduce the concept of living with climate change for all primary school age kids.
