Since 2009 I have explored what it means to be an Indigenous I-Kiribati woman. Half ‘imatung (white) and born and raised in Australia, I struggled for years on what this meant for my identity. Through The Little Island That Could, I have written essays on Kiribati culture, environment, gender and identity.
